FAQs.

General FAQS

Where can I/we find your packages and prices?

My packages start at $795 +GST and are listed on my packages page. Get in touch to receive a price list.

Are you a full-time photographer?

Yes, sure am.

Do you travel for work?

Absolutely. Anywhere on the Mornington Peninsula is included in my packages, and I travel to Melbourne for an additional fee. Anywhere that requires an overnight stay, I ask that my airfare, transfers and accommodation are covered. Interstate and international travel can also be arranged (when restrictions allow). Once I receive more information about your shoot, I’ll put together a custom quote that considers travel costs.

Can you help me work out what photos I/we will need?

Sure thing. I’m happy to have a chat with you over the phone or via email in the lead up to your shoot. I’ll also get you to put together a mood board full of inspiration, so I can get an idea of what you like.

Where’s the best place to have the session?

It depends on your brand and personality. I love locations that tell a story and I’m inspired by natural light. Whether you’re working in a well-lit café, wandering down hillsides or walking along the beach - it’s up to you! I also love finding white or coloured walls that make you pop! If you need some guidance, I’m here to help.

Can you recommend locations?

I sure can. I have a range of locations I love to visit across the Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne.

The Booking Process FAQS

How do I book?

Fill out my contact form and I’ll strive to get back to you within 48 hours. Then, we’ll meet for an initial chat. If you find we’re a good fit, I’ll take a $300 deposit to lock in your shoot.

When do you shoot?

I shoot during the week, Monday – Friday. It’s best to get in touch to confirm my availability. I love to shoot my outdoor sessions either early in the morning or just before sunset to achieve that soft, stunning light. For indoor sessions, I try to do mid-morning, but this can differ depending on what the light is like.

How far in advance do I need to book?

This depends on the time of year. If you’re looking to shoot between October and March, it’s best to book at least 2-3 months in advance. Between April and September, I recommend booking your shoot 1-2 months in advance.

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, I take all major credit cards.

Do you take a deposit?

I take a $300 deposit to secure your session. The balance will be due one week prior to your shoot.

Can we meet before the shoot?

I love meeting and getting to know my future clients, although during peak season it can be tricky to make this happen. During this time, I can offer a FaceTime call or a phone call. Head to my contact page to arrange a time to chat.

Can I give you some samples of the photos we want?

Sure thing, I’ll ask you to send through a Pinterest board of inspiration before your shoot. But please note, I don’t work off this on the day as it can hinder my creativity. Constantly looking down at the list means I might miss the best moments! I like to follow the energy and action happening on the day. However, if there’s a certain “must-have” photo, let me know and I’ll do my best to make it happen.

Do you offer a payment plan?

Yes, I am flexible with payment. I’m happy to sort out a payment plan that best suits you so we can secure your spot with ease.

The Photoshoot FAQS

Will you help with posing?

I know how intimidating it is to be in front of a camera, which is why I try to make it as comfortable as possible. I won’t make you get into awkward poses, but I’ll give gentle direction and guidance where needed.

What’s your photography style?

I’m a lover of natural light. I like to keep things minimal so the focus is on you. I also love getting up close and personal! I like to have you in focus and the rest of the image lovely and soft. I’m also a big fan of bokeh, that nostalgic feeling and a bit of grain.

What if the weather forecast is looking bad?

I shoot outdoors in almost all weather conditions, aside from rain and high winds. I always keep an eye on the forecast leading up to your shoot and if the rain sets in, I’ll make the call to reschedule.

What if I (or someone in my team) gets sick?

That’s no problem at all, I’ll be happy to reschedule at no extra cost. The same goes if I’m unwell. Although (touch wood) I’ve never had to do this in the 15 years I’ve been shooting!

What should I/we wear?

I want you to feel comfortable in your own skin. There’s no point putting on nice clothes and dressing up if it doesn’t feel like you. Wear what you would normally wear. I can also offer guidance in the lead up to your shoot.

Can you recommend hair and makeup?

Absolutely. I have some wonderful contacts sprawled across Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula. Get in touch if you need a referral.

Do I need hair and make up?

This is completely up to you. Some of my clients choose to get their hair and makeup done as it gives them a wee confidence boost. If that’s you, enjoy the pampering! But if you feel better doing your own makeup (or going without) then go for it. Whatever makes you feel the most confident and comfortable in your own skin.

What kind of camera do you use?

I only shoot with professional grade Canon bodies and lenses.

Do you have backup equipment?

Of course. I carry two professional camera bodies on the day, with backup cards in each camera. I also have multiple batteries, cards and lenses.

Do you shoot in black and white or colour?

Both. It depends on your shoot, preferences and branding.

After The Shoot FAQS

When will the photos be ready?

The turnaround time varies depending on the session you book, but they’re usually ready with 1 – 2 weeks. During public holidays and peak times over the Christmas break, it can take slightly longer. I also have options for a 24-hour turnaround if you need them quickly.

How do you store the images and for how long?

I have multiple backup external hard drives that safely store your photos. On top of this, I also store everything in the cloud. So even in cases of fire or theft, your photos will be safe. I’ll keep your images on my hard drives for 3 months after I deliver your gallery. I strongly suggest backing up your files in multiple locations as soon as you get them.

Will I/we get a high-resolution copy of all the images?

You certainly do. No matter the package or shoot, you’ll receive all your files via a stunning online gallery. The files are JPEG (high resolution), free of any ‘watermark’. And of course, all the files you receive have been lovingly hand-edited by me and are easy to download to your device.

Will you touch up the photos?

I like to keep everything as natural as possible. Although, I’ll retouch the odd thing, like a fly, a pimple or some unwanted rubbish in the background. You can request extra touch ups for an additional fee.

What’s your editing style?

I love adding a bit of grain to get that nostalgic feel. Take a look at my latest work on Instagram to get a good feel for my style.

Can I upgrade my package after the shoot?

Of course! You will have 24 hours to upgrade your package once you have seen your online gallery.
